About us
Who we are, how we started, and our vision and mission in defending digital freedoms in Egypt.
Tbian for Rights and Freedoms is an Egyptian human rights organization specializing in digital freedoms, working within a comprehensive framework of legal support, monitoring, documentation and evidence-based advocacy. Based in Cairo, it was founded in early 2024 by a group of lawyers, researchers and human rights defenders.
The founders bring more than 15 years of professional experience in the Egyptian human rights movement, particularly in defending freedom of expression and digital freedoms. Working individually or within local human rights organizations, they have provided legal defense in dozens of political cases and contributed to monitoring, documentation and legal training inside and outside Egypt.
Our vision
A free and safe digital society in Egypt, where rights and freedoms are protected and the rights to expression, privacy and access to information are respected, within a legal environment that upholds international human rights standards.
Our mission
To strengthen the protection of digital rights and public freedoms in Egypt through legal defense, documenting violations, producing legal knowledge and organizing specialized training — securing a fair digital environment built on the rule of law and respect for human dignity.
